Proverbs 3: 5-8 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.”
To be honest, I read this for the first time almost three years ago. These few verses have stuck with me and make me see differently in life, all because of the first line: “Trust in the Lord.” There was a point in time where I had honestly hit the lowest of lows. I truly felt lost and uncertain of everything. I was sad, depressed, angry, antisocial, and just not happy with anything. One night I finally picked up my Bible; I had been contemplating whether to just pray and confide in God about everything, and I did. I chose to spend the next couple of months during that time to take a break from social media and focus on myself and God. I came across Proverbs, refreshing myself with this verse, and it truly changed everything. I prayed that one big prayer that I used to be afraid to do. I literally gave everything to God in that moment; I allowed myself to give him the wheel of my life and guide me. The day after I prayed that very prayer, I’m telling you things changed for me just like that! God had started to make straight my path because I chose to trust in him, and I continue to do so this very day. That is the night I will always remember because that is when my faith truly started to grow.
My words to you are to give it to Him; give your all to God and watch what He can do for you because that’s all He wants. He wants us to trust Him, love Him, praise Him, give thanks to Him, and so much more. There still will be days when you feel angry, sad, lonely, or unsure of things, but this is when you really have to grip tight to the Word of God. He is with you through all these emotions, and He is where you will find comfort. Days won’t always be easy. You will face many challenges, and that’s where God can work. He’s here to help us fight our battles. So don’t stress this life, guys. We aren’t meant to go at it alone. My life changed through the Word of God, and so can yours.
